Star Wars: Alternity (film) (Johnsonverse)
Star Wars: Alternity is a 2005 American space opera film written and directed by Sheldon Johnson, Jr., produced by Lucasfilm, Ltd., and released by 20th Century Fox. The film is divided into two segments, with the first being computer-animated and the second being live-action.
The first segment focuses on the dark side ending of Knights of the Old Republic, and how Darth Revan defeated the Republic; it stars the voices of Rino Romano, Jennifer Hale, Raphael Sbarge, John Cygan, Rafael Ferrer, Sara Kestelman, and Ed Asner. The second segment jumps 3,000 years into the future, showing the revitalized Republic fighting the Separatists funded by Darth Sidious, a member of the Council of Darths who later forms a splinter faction from the Sith Empire known as the Galactic Empire, led by the Sith Lords whom Revan wouldn't make immortal; this segment stars Tim Johnson, Chloe Johnson, Belle Armstrong, Hayden Christensen, Samuel L. Jackson, Frank Oz, Ian McDiarmid, Keanu Reeves, Christopher Lee, Ray Park, Jimmy Smits, and Gary Oldman.
Filming for the live-action segments began in August 2003. The animated segments were done at the same time as the live-action scenes. The film premiered at the San Jose Theater on December 12, 2005, and began its worldwide release four days later, and received critical praise for its acting, special effects, music, and animation.
On the planet Lehon, Revan (Rino Romano), along with fellow Jedi Jolee Bindo and Juhani, have fought the fallen Jedi Bastila Shan to a standstill. Bastila, impressed with Revan's power, realizes that he is the true Dark Lord, not Darth Malak. Revan, who has slowly re-embraced his old identity out of disgust that the Jedi would reprogram him into their attack dog, turns to the dark side fully and, along with Bastila, kills Jolee by stabbing him in the torso, and Juhani by beheading her.
Back at the Ebon Hawk, the group is divided by this news. T3-M4 and HK-47 are programmed to be loyal, and Canderous Ordo pledges his allegiance. Carth Onasi runs away, while Mission refuses to join after seeing what Malak did to Taris. Zalbaar, however, has to honor his life debt to Revan. Mission demands to be killed, but Revan takes a more diplomatic approach and convinces Mission that he is nothing like Malak. After sending HK-47 to stun Carth, the group departs for the Star Forge.
Once aboard, Revan, Bastila, and Canderous fight their way through waves of Sith Troopers and Dark Jedi. Bastila eventually decides to go no further and use her Battle Meditation to win the battle for the Sith, while Canderous stays to guard her. On the bridge of the factory, Revan and Malak engage in one last duel that ends with Malak wallowing in self-pity before dying from a fatal wound. With Bastila's battle meditation, the Republic fleet is completely destroyed.
On Korriban, Bastila declares that Malak is dead and that Darth Revan has returned. The massive Sith Armada departs Lehon for the Core Worlds, decimating what little Republic forces remain to oppose them, before reaching Coruscant. While Canderous leads a bloody battle in the streets, Revan and Bastila lead their own troops and Dark Jedi in an attack on the Jedi Temple, killing almost every Jedi within. The Supreme Chancellor soon offers to discuss terms of surrender. The Sith military leadership want Revan to kill him and take the galaxy by force, to which Revan responds by Force choking an overzealous officer. At the negotiating table, Revan allows the Republic's government to flee Coruscant intact, and find a new capitol well away from Sith space. He also allows them to maintain a military and navy for peacekeeping and defense against pirates, warning that any attempt at massive rearmament would be met with a new invasion. Finally, the Jedi Order is to be illegalized and destroyed, which the Chancellor balks at, and Revan immediately retracts, knowing there will be plenty of time to hunt down the remaining Jedi.
The Treaty of Coruscant is signed, finally bringing the Jedi Civil War to an end. The Republic government and remaining military forces leave the planet unmolested, and relocate to the Hosnian system. With the Republic humbled, Revan sets to work running his empire. He illegalizes slavery, grants equal rights to non-humans, and brings an end to the Hutts' power after a brutal military campaign. Meanwhile, Bastila is dispatched around the galaxy to hunt down and kill any surviving Jedi, as well as find Force-sensitives to recruit as Sith.
