The 1980 NASCAR Winston Cup Series was the 32nd season of professionahal stock car racing in the United States and the 9th modern-era NASCAR Cup season. The season began on Sunday, January 13 and ended on Sunday, November 15.

This is also the First Season to have a 8-Race Playoff with 8 Drivers Competing with 4 Advancing to the Final Race of the Season
