Expansion to 64 Teams in 2004

MLB will now have eight more teams for the 2004 Season with the addition of the following teams

  • AL East expanded to Quebec City, Quebec (Capitales)
  • AL Central expanded to St. Louis, MO (Showboats)
  • AL South expanded to Nashville, TN (Jukes)
  • AL West expanded to San Jose, CA (Condors)
  • NL East expanded to Hamilton, Ontario (Hammers)
  • NL Central expanded to Toledo, OH (Mud Hens)
  • NL South expanded to San Juan, Puerto Rico (Raiders)
  • NL West expanded to Salt Lake City, UT (Bees)
