Manufacturer Changes
- The Camaro was reintroduced into NASCAR competition, replacing the Corvette Z06. The Corvette's two-year run in NASCAR was marred by controversy, when non-Corvette drivers complained that the car had too big an aero advantage for any other team to compete with, thus leading to the dominance of Dale Earnhardt Inc. and Richard Childress Racing between 2008-2009.
- Toyota introduced a second model, the Avalon.
