Her complaints about the quality of the racing in the 2012 Daytona 500, stating, "The only exciting part was when (Juan Pablo) Montoya hit that jet dryer", that spurred Tim Johnson to fire Brian France and Mike Helton, and institute sweeping changes two years later, of which she was very satisfied with.
Armstrong in 2012 during a skit on Fireside Chat with Tim Johnson. In this skit, she portrayed a valley girl named Ella who defrauded the Mitt Romney campaign. Ella has since become a recurring character in the series due to her popularity with audiences.
