Inanimate Insanity: The Movie (Nersh1rt's universe)
NOTE: May be incomprehensible to anyone who has not watched Inanimate Insanity.
Inanimate Insanity: The Movie is a 2021 animated action adventure science fiction comedy drama film. It was directed by Adam Katz and Taylor Grodin. It is based on the web series Inanimate Insanity. It is known as the first film based on an object show to be released theatrically. It's also known as the longest, clocking in at 2 hours and 30 minutes. It was released on April 18, 2021 (coincidentally on Adam's 24th birthday), and was a box office success. It is also slightly more mature and darker than the series itself, hence its PG-13 rating.
Steve Cobs discovers this new kind of glitchy virus that could be lethal to Meeple products made more than 5 years ago. With this discovery, he uses it to forge a secret weapon that could lead to him reigning supreme. He also uses it as a plan to rule over GlaDstonia as a dictator.
Meanwhile, Suitcase's hallucinations seem to have gotten much worse over time, to the point that it causes her great pain and misery. This causes many to worry about her, including her rival, Nickel. Some other characters have also gained a feeling of impending doom, though others constantly insist that feeling will go away.
An unknown entity that has seemingly resided in GlaDstonia ever since Inanimate Insanity began, is waiting for the next opportunity to exploit the weakness of an individual when they're most vulnerable. Upon discovering it, some start theorizing that it was behind Evil Paper and Suitcase's hallucinations.
The movie starts off with a title card saying "Last time, on Inanimate Insanity...", referencing the Season 1 episodes. The narrator then recaps the plots of Season 1 and Season 2, as clips from episodes of both seasons play in the background. The main plot of the film begins after the recap ends.
A party is going on at Hotel OJ when there is suddenly a blackout. Shortly before the power goes back on, an unknown voice says something on the intercom, and everyone passes out shortly afterwards.
Several hours later, everyone had already woken up by then and are hanging out, though some are thinking about what happened at Hotel OJ. MePhone4 insists that it was probably just the result of everyone getting too drunk at the party. OJ responds by telling him that he did not serve any alcoholic beverages at the party, although MePhone passes this off as memory loss from passing out hypothetically drunk, much to OJ's annoyance. (W.I.P)
Shortly after an early screening of the film took place on April 1, 2021 (also the series' 10th anniversary), a heavily modified version of the film's script was leaked online, titled "The REAL script of Inanimate Insanity: The Movie". It contained adult language, implications of gory scenes, sexual content, and lots of moments where the characters were out of character. Several fans of the series complained about it, some comparing the modified script to Object Terror, an infamous object show made by Legoboynj, a controversial figure of the object show community.
Adam Katz confirmed that it was not the movie's actual script and that the modified script came to be after hackers got ahold of the original script and edited it. The modified script of the movie became an internet meme shortly after. There was also a Real-Time Fandubs-influenced fandub of the movie that takes liberties from the modified script.
- The toilet jokes from Season 1's earlier episodes are toned down.
- Bomb's stutter was changed to a slighter stutter due to some viewers of the original series finding it offensive.
