Johnson Games is an American video game developer and publisher. It was formed in 1982 by Phil Stacker, then-CEO of Johnson Industries, to develop and produce games for the Atari 2600. However, the Great Video Game Crash of 1983 resulted in low sales until the company shifted its focus to the Nintendo Entertainment System. The resulting game, Colt's Crushin', was released in November 1985 as an NES launch title, and is credited with helping to bring the video game industry out of the crash.
