Miss USA 1987, the 36th Miss USA pageant, was televised live on February 17 from Albuquerque, New Mexico on UBC (USA) & CTV (Canada) with a Simulcast on Rhythm Radio. The ceremonies were hosted for the last time by Bob Barker. At the conclusion of the final competition, Michelle Royer of Texas was crowned Miss USA, becoming the third consecutive winner from Texas.

Although Allison Brown was in the Troupe for the 1986 Miss USA Pageant, She Did Represented Miss Teen USA in 1987 Miss USA Pageant but a handful of 1986 and 1987 Miss Teen USA Contestants performing in the Troupe including Kristi Addis (who went on to win the 1987 Miss Teen USA Pageant) as well as a handful of California Contestants including Diana Magana (Miss California USA 1988), Christina Faust (Miss California USA 1989) and Therese Kablan (who competed in the Syndicated Dream Girl USA Pageant that ran for 26 Weeks and is a Spokesmodel on Star Search hosted by John Schneider) as well as a handful of Texas Contestants including LeeAnne Locken, Kimberly Greer, Kimberley Acker, Jackie McGhee, Amy Miller, Tammy Sharp, Lisa Barnes and Jerann Muma as well as Kelly Jerles (who was Miss Georgia Teen USA 1983, Miss Georgia America 1987 and Represented Georgia at American Beauty Search 1985) and Anna Charbonnet (who represented New Mexico in the 1985 American Beauty Search contest)
