Swordquest II (Johnsonverse)

From DifferentHistory Wiki

Swordquest II is a series of video games produced by Johnson Games in 2019 as part of a contest, consisting of the games Earthworld, Fireworld, Waterworld, and Airworld. Each of the games came with a comic book that explained the plot, as well as containing part of the solution to a major puzzle that had to be solved to win the contest, with a series of prizes on offer whose total value was $250,000.

The comic books were produced by Johnson Comics. All four game box covers were illustrated by Drew Struzan. A special fan club offer was provided, allowing those who wanted the game to also get a T-shirt and poster for each game.

The original competition was held by Atari, Inc. in the 1980s, consisting of Earthworld, Fireworld and Waterworld, as well as the unfinished Airworld. It was cancelled due to the Great Video Game Crash of 1983.
