The Fairly OddParents (Season 11) (Johnsonverse)

From DifferentHistory Wiki

The eleventh and final season of The Fairly OddParents began airing on February 13, 2021 with the double-length episode "The Fairies Are Back".

This is the only season not to air on Nickelodeon (it instead airs on Netflix through Cartoon Network, which acquired the rights to the show in 2019 and currently airs reruns of the first eight seasons) or have any involvement from creator Butch Hartman or his company Billionfold Inc., though Fred Seibert and Frederator Studios are still involved. New showrunner Chloe Johnson stated that the season would "restore the series to its former glory"; this season also brought back many characters such as Vicky, Trixie, Chester, and AJ, to major status. Some recurring characters such as the original Catman were retired due to the death of their voice actors, while others such as the Crimson Chin and his enemies, Norm the Genie, Remy Buxaplenty, the Anti-Fairies (including Anti-Cosmo and Anti-Wanda), Elmer, Sanjay, Francis, Veronica, Tootie, Dr. Bender and his son Wendell (with Gilbert Gottfried returning to the role), and the Pixies return.

This season also retcons the ninth and tenth seasons (2013-2017) into a series of bizarre dreams Cosmo had (both Sparky and Chloe are reduced to mostly silent "hate cameo" appearances, with speaking roles from time to time), and restores the characters' original personalities (such as Timmy being more of an "average kid that no one understands" than a jerk, Vicky being more apathetic than evil, Trixie being a closeted geek, Timmy's parents not treating him as a burden, Cosmo and Wanda being equally dumb, with Cosmo sounding like he did from Seasons 3-8 and Wanda being the more responsible of the two, Mr. Crocker's penchant for arbitrarily giving out F's, etc.). The three live-action TV movies starring Drake Bell and Daniella Monet were retconned as bad fanfiction written by Jorgen (which he then reads to Binky, who is even more scared than usual). A fourth Jimmy Timmy Power Hour will also be released during this season as the series finale, leading directly to the upcoming movie that will serve as the series finale, with "Channel Chasers" being retconned as a dream Tootie had.

The Season 9 opening is used, with minor changes, Poof's design being updated as the season progresses, updated executive producer credits, and new head gags for each episode, and the Netflix Original Series credit consists of Cosmo and Wanda using their wands in front of a purple background, and after a "poof" effect, the text "A Netflix Original Series" appears with Timmy saying "Netflix!".

Finally, several new characters were added, including Samantha King (voiced by Ashleigh Ball), a friend to Timmy who was described by Tim Johnson as "basically Chloe Carmichael, but competently written and not an insult to competent characterization or my sister's name"; she is a perfectionist whose overly strict parents punish her for even the smallest mistakes, as well as Bailey (voiced by Kristen Schaal), who is Cosmo and Wanda's pet dog; she is described as "Sparky, but actually smart".

The first 13 episodes were released on February 13, 2021; 26 additional episodes were released on April 19 and June 6, and the other 26 will be released in August and October. As in previous seasons, almost every episode consists of two segments.
